NEW! Newport Marina – Jersey City
Located on the Jersey City waterfront, our Newport Marina location provides direct access to the Hudson River and some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline. This location serves as a launching point for guided tours, kayak rentals, paddleboard sessions, and special events.
Liberty Harbor – Jersey City
Our Liberty Harbor location offers convenient access to New York Harbor and serves as the departure point for several guided paddling experiences. The location provides a unique perspective of the harbor and surrounding waterfront.
Braddock Park Lake Pedal Boats– North Bergen
Urban Paddle operates pedal boat and kayak rentals at Hudson County’s Braddock Park. The program provides a fun and easy way for families, friends, and visitors to enjoy time on the water close to home.
Statue of Liberty Paddling Area
Urban Paddle offers guided experiences within view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Lower Manhattan. These tours allow participants to experience some of the harbor’s most recognizable landmarks from the water.

Paddle Pups™ Kayak Tour
Created by Urban Paddle, the Paddle Pups™ Kayak Tour allows dogs and their owners to kayak together on New York Harbor. Designed for adventurous pups and their humans, this unique experience has become one of our signature programs.
90-Minute Statue of Liberty Adventure
A longer guided experience that takes paddlers through New York Harbor with once in a lifetime views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge and the entire waterfront. Includes boat ride!
Night LED Kayaking ™
The Original- only at Urban Paddle! A guided evening kayak tour using LED-lit kayaks. This experience offers a different perspective of the waterfront and city skyline after dark.

From first-time paddlers to experienced adventurers, Urban Paddle connects people to the beauty, excitement, and inspiration of New York Harbor.
Since 2012, Urban Paddle has connected people of all skill levels, to the beauty, excitement, and inspiration of New York Harbor by kayaking. Founded by Kevin Murray, Urban Paddle was created from a lifelong connection to the water and a passion for sharing New York Harbor with others.
Growing up in Hudson County, Kevin spent countless days boating and exploring the waters of New York Harbor. Those experiences created a deep appreciation for the harbor's beauty, history, and unique perspective of the New York City skyline. Urban Paddle was founded with the belief that more people should experience the harbor from the water—not just view it from shore.
Beginning at Sandy Hook Beach in 2012, Urban Paddle introduced thousands of people to kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding in a fun, welcoming environment. In 2019, the company returned to New York Harbor, bringing unique paddling experiences directly to the Hudson River waterfront in Jersey City.
Today, Urban Paddle's mission is to make the Hudson River a paddle playground for everyone. Whether it's a first-time kayaker taking their very first stroke, a family looking for a memorable day on the water, or an experienced paddler seeking a new adventure, Urban Paddle strives to create experiences that are safe, accessible, and unforgettable.
We believe that the New York Harbor is one of the world's greatest natural treasures. By helping people experience it firsthand by kayaking, we hope to inspire a greater appreciation for our waterfront, our environment, and our marine life.
Urban Paddle is also committed to investing in the local community. Each season, we hire Jersey City high school and college students, providing opportunities to learn leadership, customer service, boating operations, water safety, and other skills that introduce them to the maritime and recreational industries.
Urban Paddle is an active-life mission-driven organization dedicated to connecting people with the water, creating future harbor stewards, and showcasing the incredible beauty of New York Harbor.
